All organisations are seeking to minimize routine data entry by communicating directly between information systems. Efficient, cost-effective transport operations demand continuous information exchange between the transport partners in the logistics chain.

The fastest and most reliable method of communication is Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) – computer-to-computer communication. In the InPort solutions it is possible to create and interchange messages using the international standard UN/EDIFACT message format as well as messages in locally agreed formats such as XML structures can be exchanged. Although a great part of messages are sent using EDIFACT format, incorporating locally agreed formats is in our view essential, as we believe that such formats will continue to exist.

EDI data can be automatically exchanged and processed without any human intervention.
