Press release
InPort receives prestigious assignments from Port of Norrköping facing major port investment.
Port of Norrköping invests in a wide deployment in which the predominant management of goods and services will focus on the new Pampus Harbor.
With double storage space, new efficient cranes for ship-to-shore handling as well as the advanced plans for investment in new RTG fork lifts will handle increased volumes and offer one of Northern Europe's most efficient and modern intermodal port terminals.
Efficiency and pooling of resources and effective management of goods and services will be essential requirements.
Modern and well-functioning IT solutions obviously play a very important role in this effort.
For that reason, InPort Intelligent Port Systems AB & A/S have received the assignments from Port of Norrköping to complete and implement a comprehensive IT solution for the fully integrated new multipurpose terminal.
IT investment will mainly be focused on integration and optimization of the quays, ships, warehouses and container parks. Extensive and very modern graphical presentations will play a significant role.
GPS integration for precise positioning of devices and optimized distances and internal transport will contribute to the port being able to keep costs for the handling of a very competitive level.
InPort recently integrated port production system with paper manufacturer Billerud's similar ones thereby creating an effective information flow for the benefit of all actors involved. The whole logistic management of the paper reels from shipper, container stuffing in port and onward transportation by boat, train and lorries have been important elements.
The very long and good relationship is one of the cornerstone for the port selected InPort as a strategic partner in this project.
